I could have got away with murder as a child!

We started a discussion on facebook yesterday .It made us laugh as the things we got up to as kids which we wouldnt dare let our own children do now.

Here is the the list so far add your own at the bottom of this page

  • Raised on meat and three veg for dinner.
  •  weetbix for brekkie.
  • played in the dirt.
  •  got your bum smacked.
  •  had 3 TV channels and had to change the channel by getting up and doing it yourself.
  •  school started with the national anthem.
  •  had a bedtime.
  •  recorded the top 40 from the radio on cassette tapes.
  •  drank from a hosepipe.
  • played in the creek(brook) or small river.
  •  rode your bike all day without a helmet.
  • was taught to repect others and have manners.
  • play alone outside and your parents didnt know where u had gone so long as you just went out to play.
  • Went out to play in the neighborhood without adult supervision from age 5 onwards.and there were no worries I would be snatched off the streets.

Plus… what about the wonderful comments your mum told you…

Religion – “You better pray that comes out of the carpet”
Logic – “Because I said so, that’s why”
Irony – “Keep crying and I’ll give you something to cry about”
Wisdom – “When you get to my age you’ll understand ”
Justice – “One day you’ll have kids, I hope they turn out just like you!!”

Mum in need of help….”Wait till your dad gets home”.

DONT FORGET TO ADD YOUR OWN COMMENT LETS KEEP THE LIST GROWING FOR A BIT OF FUN FOLKS!
